Improving built environment and construction performance requires looking beyond individual projects to understand how decisions, processes, and stakeholders interact across multiple scales. At the micro scale, decisions are made within firms and projects; the meso scale connects organizations, supply chains, and project networks; and the macro scale encompasses urban building stocks and broader regional and national systems.
These scales create interconnected decision environments in which project-level innovations and organizational strategies interact with policies, incentives, market conditions, and funding mechanisms. Using data-driven, systems-based, and decision-analytic models, my research examines these interactions and supports the development of more efficient, collaborative, and adaptable construction practices.
